Boluda France takes delivery of two new tugs for Saint Nazaire and Dunkirk

The vessels VB Ouragan and VB Cyclone were built by Piriou shipyard in Vietnam and arrived in Saint-Nazaire on December 15 on board heavy lift vessel.

Inspired by a previous order of 8 tugs delivered to Boluda France between 20007 and 2009, these new tugs are the result of a close cooperation between Piriou Shipyard of Concarneau and Boluda France’s technical service. The vessels are 30m long and 10m breadth, deliver 70 tons of bollard pull and are equipped with FIFI1 fire-fighting capabilities. Both vessels also have escort tug classification.

VB Ouragan and VB Cyclone will be operated by Boluda France respectively in the port of Nantes Saint-Nazaire and Dunkirk and will operationally replace existing tugs.

These new buildings demonstrate Boluda France’s ambition to strengthen its core business of harbor and terminal towage services, as well as to operate vessels capable of meeting the challenges of the marine renewable energy industry.
