On December 16th the US aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower arrived in the Port of Marseille for a four-day stopover. Tugs Mistral 8, Mistral 9, Mistral 10 and VB Provence assisted in berthing the vessel, one of the largest aircraft carriers in the world. For its departure, five tugs were required to get the aircraft carrier under way: Mistral 7, Mistral 8, Mistral 9, Mistral 10 and VB Rhône.

This was a difficult maneuver given the ship’s particular structure and the restrained space of  the Port of Marseille,  but our highly qualified crews provided an outstanding service.
